Whiting pilot missing in T-34 crash From Staff Reports A pilot is missing after a T-34 crash in Lake Pontchartrain, the Navy said. The T-34C Turbomentor training aircraft went down during a routine mission at approximately 7:00 p.m. yesterday evening. There were two pilots aboard the aircraft. The pilots were assigned to Training Air Wing Five, based out of Naval Air Station Whiting Field.
